NCLEX issues, What do I do next?

Published

I am no longer a student but a Graduate with my BSN. I have taken the NCLEX 4x and have not passed. My test anxiety is my main enemy when it comes to this test. I am continuing to study and plan to retest soon, but I would like to be able to use my BSN degree sooner then later. My question to you is: Is there any job out there in the healthcare world that a BSN can be used other then just for nursing?

This is going to sound harsh, but it is intended to be helpful:

If test anxiety is the real cause for your failure to pass the NCLEX in 4 tries, you should be getting some sort of therapy for your test anxiety. Studying is only a "cure" if "lack of knowledge or intellectual skill" is the problem. In other words, if you already know the material, then studying won't help. Address the real problem. If it is really "test anxiety," get help for that.

Now ... if you really don't know the material and/or don't have the intellectual skills necessary to apply that knowledge, then studying is a good thing to do. However, you should consider changing how and what you are studying as that approach doesn't seem to be working. Again, I would suggest professional help -- not just self-studying.

I hope you identify your problem soon so that you can get effective treatment for whatever it is.
