NCLEX HELP

Published

I will be taking the NCLEX sometime in June or July so I am starting to study now. Does anyone have any good ideas? I currently have the Hurst review book, Kaplan review book, and a comprehensive book. I was also thinking about taking the NCSBN's Review course. Is this similar to the actual NCLEX? Is it any good? I am starting to get nervous and I am also starting to feel overwhelmed. Any advice would be great!

OMG! good for you, I told my self before I graduated nursing school that I was going to start studying for the NCLEX but it didn't really happen. I say you sign up for Kaplan and stick to another material aside kaplan - I think Saunders was great. It summed up everything with its rationale. I reviewed for a month , don't start stressing yourself - its so far away! Studying hard will take all the anxiety away. Your state of mind will be in a better place if you know that you prepared. Just know that not everything you're going to study is not going to come out, which disappointed me because I only got thrown a few diseases, most of it was just prioritizing. Do a lot of questions!!! Kaplan qbank questions were really similar as far as the nclex goes , wording and everything. I felt prepared and didn't feel like what am I reading! Good luck! no need to stress yourself now, you got a few months to go :)

Get yourself a calendar and map out a plan. Then start with the first day. Only tackle one day at a time. Anybody can get through one day, one session, or half an hour of study. But you will feel overwhelmed if you look at the test and the test date and the four or so books you haven't cracked open yet! Remember, little chunks at a time.

tarsmith, for my review, i enrolled in a review center, and read all the major topics in the saunders nclex rn comprehensive book.. i also used Lippincotts 3500 program. imo, review centers have always helped me excel and i think it is the best way to review.. :)
