Hey there,
Just took the NCLEX for the first time last week and found out that i failed. I used Hurst review, ATI Virtual Review and a little big of the Saunder's 5th edition. My NCLEX exam had a lot of priotization and delegation questions, which i think are the ones that made me fail....I believe i need more practice with tackling NCLEX style questions....ANy suggestions out there?? Thanks guyz!

Do you have the Lacharity book, because people swear by it for p/d/a. You are not alone I also failed the NCLEX my first time and my first book I bought after it was lacharity so I hope it helps me the next time.

The last time I took the nclex exam was early 2008. I failed and I haven't taken it since. I moved out of the country or a year, came back early Jan.2010. Ive been reading and studying in hope to retake the exam, but the fear of failure haunts me and I cannot push it aside. I've been praying about it. Good luck to all of you!
Hi there,
I am so confused on what books i want to buy....i have placed an order for the La Charity book as i have read such good comments about it......The hurst review was awesome, it helped me a lot....I don't know about doing the ATI virtual review again coz my tutor has assigned me the same tests that I did before taking the NCLEX.....I would really love to take the Kaplan review, but with this recession, seems like am not able to afford 500 dollars for it.....I believe we are gonna pass it the second time....I get discouraged here and there, but i believe in myself that i will pass the second time with flying colors....please keep in touch with me so we can motivate each other....am so embarassed to tell my friends that i failed the nclex.....
Trust me, i feel the same way too.....I have read so many threads where people have taken the nclex 5 to 6 times....I spent about three months preparing for NCLEX. I felt like the world was out to get me....I worked so hard, dedicated my time and then come to find out i failed, i was a complete mess....It has taken me about a week to recuperate....My motivation is, people have passed the NCLEX the second time, why can't i do it too....Its so embarassing telling people that i've failed the NCLEX, am walking down the hall of shame....I have asked God several times, why me?? i studied so hard and prayed that you guide me through the exam, then just to find out i have failed...please keep in touch with me so we can motivate each other or even exchange the tools we have to study for the NCLEX......stay positive...if you passed nursing school, you will pass the NCLEX!!
You are right we have to stay strong. We will get through this!

Linda LaCharity's book on prioritization should be helpful at this point. Good luck.

la charity book is favored by many nclex retakers, it helps in improving their analytical thinking.
to Liyah and disappointed: what are the different resources/ books/ review materials you plan on using? update me pls
I just bought the LaCharity book and Kaplan 2010-2011 book....with this economic crisis, i can't afford to take the kaplan classes...but i have taken the hurst review before i graduated this past May. Plus am also using virtual ATI.....what are you using??
1. saunders 5th edition
2. mosby's
3. nclex made incredibly easy
4. lippincott
i plan on buying kaplan 2010 edition as well.. have you tried it out yet? do the practice questions match that of the real nclex? they advise us retakers to do high difficulty questions and practice on sata's..
i'm planning on going to town to purchase lacharity PDA as soon as the storm here in our home country (philippines) passes. i can't go out due to bad weather, hopefully by friday the skies will clear :)
I am using hurst, kaplan, saunders, lacharity, and some exam cram. Last time I tested I just used ATI med surg book and the review kaplan strategies and only studied for 2-3 weeks. LOL this time I have brought the big dogs with the sources Im using so I hope this helps this time around.
