NCLEX study timeline

I am in my last semester and graduate May 10th. I hope to sit for my NCLEX RN by at least July 1st. I have to create a study timeline for my capstone. But I haven't even BEGUN to look at all the different types of review books and ways to study!

Can someone give me a general idea of how to study for the NCLEX? I don't really know how to do this assignment. I don't know what my weak and strong areas are yet or which review book I'm going to use.. This is due tomorrow so I don't think it's supposed to be a spot on representation but I'd like some help making it somewhat similar to my actual test plan.

For example 2 months before the exam do this.. Read this book.. do these questions. I don't know where to begin.

What kind of learner are you? Visual, auditory, etc? That's what help forms what kind of review you should use in my opinion. I know you may not know what your weak areas are yet, but a balance of both content and questions would be beneficial. Questions reinforce the content you've refreshed yourself on, while also allowing you to critically think. Try studying 2-3 hours a day, take breaks, sometimes studying for so many hours all at once can do more harm than good and you're not retaining the information. You have to formulate your own test plan and find something that works for you. And 2 months isn't bad at all btw, some people take longer, but it depends on you overall.

Just keep a consistent study plan, don't be afraid to take breaks - you will NEED them if you're studying hard! Hope this helps. Good luck studying and with your assignment!
