PN in California takes on average 4-6 weeks to get results and then you pay for licence
omg i have to pay money??? oh wow this sux
If you register in Ca for PN then usually they will let you sit first (still have to pay pearsonvue) and then send you results with paperwork plus fee for PN license, only then once you have paid will you get a license issued. Other states you generally pay when you submit to state .
This is what they state on their website
19. Examination Results - I have just taken the LVN test. Can you tell me the results? How long before I am mailed my examination results?
Under no circumstances shall examination results be given over the telephone. The applicant must wait to receive his/her results in the mail.
It takes a minimum of 3-4 weeks for the results to be mailed out.
Examination results are produced by the NCSBN and sent to the Board for processing. NCSBN does not always send the exam results in the order the exam was administered. Applicants must wait at least 3-4 weeks to obtain their official results.
20. Fees- I already paid $75.00 to the Board. Do I have to pay the NCSBN $200.00 to take the NCLEX-PN also?
Yes, there are two fees involved each time you take the exam.
The $75 fee is for the application review and processing.
The $200 fee which goes directly to the NCSBN is for the examination.
An initial licensing fee will be charged to obtain the license after successful completion of the licensing examination.

You can look for a job before you receive your results. I would plan my job search if I were you. Get a calendar and plan out what you are going to do each day to find a job. First spend the time to polish your resume. Go to the people you are going to use as references and make sure you have their correct contact info and that they are going to cooperate. If they are willing, get a generic letter of reference from them to take with you to interviews. Make your list of info for job applications: employers, addresses, names and phone numbers of supervisors, dates of employment. Practice doing drug calculations and some review questions for those places that give you an employment test. Any time you spend getting ready for your job search is a good use of your time while you wait. Good luck.
thanks alot for your answers. i already made a resume but i will start making a cover letter and add more references. silver dragon your info was very helpful, i didnot know that i have to pay more. i have already paid 75 dollars and i already paid the 200 dollars. but seems like i am going to need to pay more. THIS IS CRAAAAAAAAAZY!!!!!!
