Do you have the Saunders Comprehensive Nclex Review Book?
i took a refresher course for 2 weeks.. gave us a binder full of notes covering the topics for nclex.. i read over the bender which included practice questions over and over.. then just did a bunch of practice questions on the saunders green cd.. plus i purchased the kaplan strategy guide book.. but basically i wasnt able to answer the simple questions im assuuming since the test just stopped me at 85..
and yes i do have the saunders green book 4th edition..
any advice on how to become much better with the content to be better prepared for the nclex? ive already done several practice questions.. while reading the rationale

I graduated in 2007 I didn't take my test the same year May 2012 I took my exam I never opened a book to study I had bought Saunders never read it I also bought Kaplan never opened it. I think the best thing I did was taking a review class I think it was a month before my test I completely recommend taking one (I took Excell nursing review they have different locations) go online and check it out it a $$$ but so worth it they give u all the materials you will need just stick to what they give u and u will succeed. I got my results I passed the main thing I would tell u is study the materials make posters and flash cards study every night after the class the material u go over that same day and take ur test within 3weeks of the review class.
so the excell review will help me also with regards to the content? because i think thats what im mainly lacking..
Excell review will go over a lot of information. The first day is strategy and also peds and isolation. Then its Med- surg and OBI then psyc and in between they added all the others they also go over a lot of review questions for u. The thing I liked the most that I thought was helpful was the drawing one of the instructors makes to help u remember and comprehend things. When I was taking my test I remember I had got a question on Addison's patient and I knew the patient before I even saw the answers so by the time I looked at my options I had the answer. Trust me you'll pass. The review class is for 10 days I recommend getting roommates just ask the Instructor that u r looking for someone to room with and she'll give u a classmates number I had two girls I shared a room with we studied together after class (study group) it helped so much then when I got home after class ended I made posters and flash cards of the info they give us. U wont need any other study material other than what they give u just stick to that and only that.
The review questions r on the last day. They group information to make it easier for u to understand. If possible make ur flash cards as u go through them that day so what u review that day try to make ur cards so by the end of ur class u already reviewed everything twice then take 2-3 weeks to review and take ur test after

Everyone learns differently. Some people can review and read and the review courses work great for them. Some people have to memorize. Some have to use a study buddy. First thing is to determine what kind of learner you are...visual, auditory, spatial, etc. Do you think in words or pictures?
