I know this is dumb of me to ask buy I really need clarfication. If I want to work in the US. Any state, am I required to take all three? I know that IELTS is like language, communication and the use of engish and stuff. NCLEX is an exam about nursing theories, all about nursing. How about CGFNS?
I'm just confused on what should be the first step that I should take. I passed the NLE last June 2009. I'm currently building up my experience, I started working as a nurse just this January 2013. I want to process my papers or any exams needed while I work.
Any tips? Help please. Thank you so much. ?

Thread moved to Nurse Registration. You need to decide which state you wish to work in, the requirements will vary by state requirements. Many states require an assessment by CGFNS and successful passing score on IELTS or equivalent (TOEFL, etc.). ALL States require a passing score on the NCLEX-RN for registration as a registered nurse.
The NCLEX assesses the knowledge that is the minimum required for an entry level nurse in the United States. While they offer an exam also, the CGFNS assesses your credentials for equivalency (or not) to the standards of the various state boards of nursing. Some states do their own assessment (like California). Especially if your education was not conducted in English you are likely to be required to complete an English language assessment that evaluates your reading, speaking, listening and writing skills against a standard. Most states will accept IELTS, but not all. You need to look at the requirements for an internationally educated nurse for licensure by examination listed by the state where you wish to be licensed and work.
You can find links to the various state boards of nursing here: Boards Of Nursing for Nurses | Nursing Students

Take toefl. It's easier than ielts.
Just make certain that it is accepted by your chosen board of nursing. Nearly all states accept IELTS but not all states accept TOEFL. Follow the directions of the board of nursing where you wish to become a licensed nurse by examination as an internationally educated nurse.
