Hello Fellow Nurses.....
I am preparing to take the NCC exam for maternal newborn shortly.I was wondering if anyone has taken it recently and what the questions were like. are they like NCLEX questions? Also I have takent he practice exam through CCPR, are the questions anything like that? Thanks for your help.

It's been a while since I sat for the exam, but it covers most everything...L&D, PP, Newborn, as well as Lamaze type teachings.
I used 2 books to study before the exam and I feel they helped me greatly.
!. OB/GYN Secrets and 2. Manual of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
I was also a Childbirth Educator at the time and that helped. A coworker and I sat at the same time and she said she did not do so well for the Childbirth/Lamaze type questions.
Good Luck to you!

I think the NCC questions change for maternal-newborn. One year a friend of mine said nearly half her questions were r/t diabetes and pregnancy, another that took it prior to that, said hers was mostly about prenatal care and fetal development.
I have not taken it; I want to but have had financial & other constraints this year. So all this is hearsay. I have heard almost everyone who's taken it say that it is harder than NCLEX.

I used the Core Curriculum for Maternal Newborn Nursing to study. I took it the first time it was ever offerred in 1994. I don't remember too much re. the content. Good Luck!

did you take the test and pass? I'm thinking about taking it this year. What is the name of the company you took the practice test through. Thanks!
