NCC Fall 2020

Published

Hey everyone! I didn't see a thread for Nassau Community College (NCC) Fall 2020 Applicants. I figured why not get one started!

I'd like to see what the pool of applicants are looking like.

My Stats:

I'm not a Nassau Resident.

I've never been in any nursing program.

ENG 101: C+

ENG 102: B+

STATS: C

AP 1: B

AP 2: B

GEN PSYCH: A

LIFESPAN: A

BIOMED: B+

MED MICRO: B

PATHO: B

I also have multiple electives with a grade of A

Current NCC GPA: 3.4

Combined GPA w/ other college: 2.97 (If I calculated it correctly!)

** Can anyone tell me if they know of anyone applying with a GPA of 2.97?! I feel like this is what will ruin my chances of applying. :(**

I emailed the nursing department yesterday. I am a current NCC student and applied for the day program. They said "we will receive emails by the end of April ".

Specializes in EMS.

They told me the same thing a while back. I think if you’re already a student you’ll get an email, if not you get a letter. But that’s just my guess

Did you happen to mention the registration status thing? Some people in the other thread mentioned their status now being frozen! Wonder if they realized they made some mistakes before emails were officially out.

Just wanted to share some info that I got from the virtual info session a while back.

*There are 24 seats for evening classes and 72 seats for day classes.

*Some nursing classes are offered in the Summer.

*Classes are 4x a week either Mon-Thurs/Tues-Fri (2 lectures & 2 labs)

*Clinicals 1x a week from 7am- 3pm

I got a letter In the mail about being accepted. I wonder if anyone is in the same boat and has a portion of the classes already completed because some were pre requisites for other programs. I am curious how the program would deal with that. Otherwise I am super excited to be going to this program.

Hey! Follow up - did you also get an acceptance email? Just checking their process haha

I have relatively similar stats and have also applied to the night program. I have yet to hear anything back but I have heard others who have applied to the night program have already gotten acceptance letters and/or change of major on their registration status. Just curious if you have heard anything yet?

I was accepted into the evening program with these stats if they help:

ENG A

Psych B

Dev Psych B

A&P1 B

A&P2 A

Stats B

Micro A

TEAS: 75

I'm also a Nassau resident. Those stats are great so I think you both have a great chance. I got my letter on Saturday. Stay positive!!

I applied for the day. I am a current NCC student. I have taken everything except Pathophysiology and Micro which I am in process of taking now. I haven't received any email or letter.

A girl in one of my classes says she was accepted and received both email and letter. A friend of mine is not an NCC student and she received just a letter. She will not be taking the seat because she got into Stonybrook also. She said the letter doesn't say anything about a deadline to accept the seat or a deposit or anything. Someone else I know also received acceptance to night program, not sure if by email or mail though. Lots of inconsistencies.

I feel like if I got in, I would have heard by now but still holding on hope that maybe I'll hear in next couple days. Obsessing over the mail and my email. A little frustrated because I feel like my stats are good.

CONGRATS to those accepted and good luck to those still waiting to hear!!

Thanks for that it was actually very helpful! Are you currently enrolled at Nassau or would you be a new student? It seems so far that only new students have heard a response. I haven't heard anything yet and panic is definitely starting to set in! LOL. I am a nassau resident, I have never enrolled in a previous nursing program and I am currently enrolled as non-degree seeking. My stats are:

TEAS - 79% overall

A&P 1 - A

A&P 2 - A

Eng 101 - B+

Eng 102 - B

Lifespan - A

Statistics - A

General Psych - B

I am currently taking medical micro and biomedical ethics this semester and am registered to take pathophysiology over the Summer.

Did you put in a request for a change of program? I graduated in May 2019, but when I spoke to the office I was told that if my account was still active I didn't have to put in the request. Now I am freaking out about this messing up my application.

I filled out the change of program application sheet that they gave me and emailed it in (because it was the day the school first closed). I attached my transcript and they told me they had my TEAS results already so I didn't have to attach those. They responded and said thank you for applying and a decision will be sent to my ncc email by the end of April.

I graduated in May of 2015 but reapplied Fall of 2019 to take the remaining pre-reqs I needed.

They emailed me telling me everything I attached was fine. They never requested me to put in that form. I just sent an email to the office asking about it. I hope this doesn't mess up my application!
