Hello to all and sorry for the absence. PLEASE NOTE that this thread only refers to the Reserve side of the Nurse Corps. The Active side is addressed in a seperate thread.
At this time the only sub-specialties (SSC's) we are accepting applications for during FY15 are: 1922 Pediatric, 1950 Perioperative, 1972 Anesthesia, 1974 Pediatric NP, and 1981 Midwife.
All other SSC's are closed for FY15 and applications will only be accepted for FY16 when we open the FY and there are available quotas.
The November board will meet sometime during the later part of the month. The recruiters should recieve results during the first week of December. The recruiters will reach out to those at the current board when they have information.
Enjoy the upcoming Holidays, and please let me know if you have any Reserve questions.

Hi LT,
I'm an Army Reserve RN, and I have a co-worker at my civilian job that is interested in the Navy Reserve. We're both OR nurses. . She has roughly 9 months peri-op experience. She's having trouble getting in touch with a Navy healthcare recruiter. I'm guessing that because of this, she won't be able to submit a packet for the November board. When is the next board after that? Do you have many openings for perioperative nurses? Any info you have is very, very appreciated. I'm also interested in transferring to the Navy reserve at some point, but my bachelors isn't in nursing and my MSN is still two years away at this point... So it could be a while.

When do the applications for FY 16 begin? I'm a med/tele nurse and an Army veteran if that matters.
