Navy for a pre-nursing student?

I am a current second semester freshman at Texas State University. My major is pre-nursing and I was wondering what would be the best option for me if i wanted to joining the Navy for nursing. I am trying to decide when to join up. Would it be a better idea to join now, or wait until i have my BSN to try and join the Navy?

Thank you so much! :)

Do some research on these boards and online for the Navy Nurse Candidate Program, a good option to look at during your Junior and Senior Year.

If you want to be a nurse.. your primary goal is GET BSN. Get on track for that - then as Littleluvbugnavy mentioned you should be looking at the NCP program and can start packet end of Sophmore year time frame to apply early junior year. If that doesn't work out 1 year prior to graduation you can start applying for direct commission.

This will be a good place for general info, read past postings. Read info on NCP application process and visit during that period for hints and such.

I don't understand what option you were looking for at joining the navy now and how that compares to getting BSN. If goal is to be a nurse then BSN should be the priority as that enables a future as a military nurse.
