Navy ncp taking applications now!

Published

Hello everyone, I just wanted to let you know that If you are interested in the Navy's Nurse Candidate Program (NCP), NOW is the time to start submitting applications. **NOTE** this only applies to nursing students that will be graduating in **2017**. If you guys have any questions about the NCP or any other opportunities in the NAVY for nurses, please don't hesitate to ask, you can find me in Facebook as well by searching Chief.Diego.Diaz

I would LOVE to do this! Unfortunately, with the new tattoo restrictions, I'm out. I hope some people are able to find success in this program!

Unless you have one in your neck, everything else usually can get a waiver!

Hey Chief,

What if I am in the process of taking them off? I have gotten 3 laser tattoo removal sessions and currently need three more to remove them completely from my neck. Also, if I am graduating in May 2016 would I still be able to apply to this term?

Hi future-RN2015, It sounds like you really want those things off! Unfortunately, like mentioned above, 2017 applications are being done right now, NCP closes fast. You should have applied last year this time frame. What I can recommend for you, is to graduate with a GPA higher than a 3.5, get your NCLEX, start a new job and be a rock-star at it, volunteer your time and help the community in whatever way you can. That way in the future when you try to come in as a Nurse, your application will look good!

One last note, be careful with tattoos, anything that is gang related or hate-related is disqualifying... If you tried coming in at one point in the past and you were denied due to "content" of tattoo, you may run into issues even if removed, specially if your name appears in a data bank somewhere... hope it helps

How silly of me: "The Navy Nurse candidate program", offers nursing students an accession bonus of $10,000 which is divided into 2 $5,000 payments, in addition, the student receives a stipend of $1,000 per month for up to 24 months, FOR A TOTAL of $34,000 to help pay for Nursing School.

Can current RNs apply?
