Hey Y'all!

I am in the final steps of completing my kit for navy NCP to submit in the next month.

I just have my 2 interviews and that's it! My recruiter told me boards close November 8th, so I should have everything in by no later than November 1st.

Is there anyone else out there that is applying for navy (or other branches) NCP program the 2016 nursing graduation class.

I want this SOOOOOOO bad! I am completely aware that it's hardcore competitive, but I have known to put forth my best effort and that's all I can do. How long does it take to know whether you got in or not?

If I get accepted, it will be the greatest energizer to push through nursing school!! To know I will serve for our country while pursuing nursing is such an honor that's hard to put words to.

Sincerely, Freckles&Glasses

I took my oath today! Such a fantastic feeling!

Hey Freckles&Glasses, I'm grateful for you that you got the scholarship! :)

I'm also pleased that you came back to your thread to give your readers an update. It was nice to see the timeline and progression. So, I thank you for that.

I just got accepted to nursing school 3 days ago (after being initially rejected). My GPA is exactly 3.0. I realize my chances will be slim, but just like how I got into nursing school, I'm not going to give up!

I have one question for you that I hope you can answer, how long did it take you to complete your packet and turn it in? My recruiter is telling me that we can finish it within 2 weeks.

Thanks and best of luck at ODS!

The kit is VERY extensive so it would be difficult to complete in two weeks. You need medical records, employment references, professor references, a trip to MEPS for a physical, interivews with current Navy nurses, etc. There are quite a few things that you can get done quickly but the references, interviews, and physical are all things that you will be relying on other people as well.

Congrats on being accepted and taking the oath Freckles&Glasses!! I am awaiting a response from the board now on my application for FY17. There is only 5 spots available so wish me luck!!! Good Luck to anyone else who is applying to the October board :)

I have just joined this group and came across your post. I graduate May 2016 and I recently received my acceptance into the navy nurse program. I would love to chat with any fellow 2016 graduates.

what specialty is needed by the Navy for FY 2016? thanks
