Navy FY18 Direct Assessions

Hey guys just wanted to get a thread started so we could all celebrate or commiserate together through this process. As of 11/29, my recruiter has said no packages have been selected from any sub specialty due to the NCP. He said we should know before the end of Dec for the next group. I have applied for ED/Trauma anyone else applied and if so for what? Best of luck to everyone.

@ SBSN, I have been selected in the reserve component for Med-Surg. I'm a little on the older side considering I am not prior service so I appreciate the opportunity to be at the ready when needed :) I have been a nurse for over 13 years working Med/Surg and tele and the last 5 years in progressive leadership roles. I'm excited to get back to bedside. I'm hoping they release the active selections soon so you all will know as well. Are you going active?

I am very excited for you. I like your plan, I think it's a good one. I'm going active. My recruiter told me I shouldn't expect results anytime soon. I guess I am technically the Dec 15 board, even though my documents were submitted in November.

Yesterday I was contacted about a Hand Written Statement stating my plan to renew my certain that expire in January and February. Sooo looks like my stuff didn't go to the board, and won't until March? í ½í¹„í ½í¹„í ½í¹„í ½í¹„

Well that's certainly great news! I am figuring they are waiting to officially give out spots until we get a new budget. The temporary budget is through Jan 19 then another potential shut down. Hopefully they will find a permanent budget so we can to the fleet!

I think they are obviously considering you if they want to ensure you are going to renew your certs. I don't think that necessarily means your package isn't with the board. They could have just asked your recruiter to contact you on their behalf?
