Navarro College LVN Fall 2023

Updated:   Published

Hey ? out there!!

I didn't see thread for LVN program at Navarro for Fall 2023. Anyone else checking their emails 100x a day anticipating the acceptance or rejection letter??

I didn't get accepted in the ADN program but I didn't get the rejection letter either.   I had to call and it ended up being  a month after the letter was supposed to reach me!

So I am hoping for an ACCEPTANCE  letter on time this go around! ?

2 more questions

1: Are the lecture classes all day or half the day?

2: What do we need to do if you're wanting to continue straight through after finishing the LVN program to the ADN program? Nightshiftlife

Hey Joel,

Classes start at 8:30 and typically last til about 2-3:00p.

You have to practice as an LVN for 6 months before applying to the LVN bridge program

Alaina thank you. On the online session she stated that if weren't able to get into the ADN program but was able to get into the LVN program that you would be able to continue and finish with your ADN in the same time as if you would have gone through the ADN program from the beginning. After getting your LVN first of course.

Hey yes, she means that it will only take you one year to finish the bridge program... And you will already have your LVN and so that's the first year already gone! So in the end, you end up doing two years as if you had gone through the ADN program, except broken up if that makes sense!

I forgot to tell you that you are actually scheduled from 8:30-5 pm, but most times we leave by 3 or so... Just know they will always say they can keep you until 5:00 because at times we got used to leaving early, LOL..

That's awesome 👍. Let me know if you think of any other questions!

There are like 6 classes each semester, how were you able to balance that while working?

Hey! I was a PCT in the hospital setting working Friday -Sun nights... For me it wasn't that bad because it was always low censes when I was at work and it was easy for me to study during the course of 12 hour shift. I was talking about however I did eventually quit during the middle half of the second semester!

It's doable depending on your job, but I wouldn't recommend working full time

Does Navarro use ebooks or actual textbooks for the LVN program?

Hey Joel, we use both! It will be your choice.. some use both.

OK thanks.
Are you able to setup a reasonable payment plan with their cashiers office? Most likely I'll be paying out of pocket so that's important to me.

I'm out of pocket as well! Be prepared to start plan before you need half down, because that's when it gets tough.... I've had to pay $1700 down and $1700 for the last payment this semester is 7/5. Last term, about the same.

If you can pay down payment early while you still can do a quarter of payment, will be smaller payments...If you wait, will be more down like in my situation and more monthly..

Hope this makes sense!

It makes sense. Thanks
