Navarro College ADN Fall 2015

Published

Hello just wanted to start a thread for anyone applying to navarro college adn program for 2015

Hey guys I am confused. I am applying to the lvn program so it may not be the same but doesn't the science section not count for anything on the teas? I know we have to take it anyways so did u guys just pick random answers. I am so confused

Also to calculate your points are you guys just adding the 83 on the teas plus the entry points? Cuz I'm hoping to get an 80 and 46 app points so I can average at 126. I know it's different for the lvn progrm though.

From what students are told you take the reading score and combine it with the amount of extra admission points you have. Like I made an 83.3 on the reading and have 31 additional application points which brings it to a total of 114. I want to add that one of the staff told my friend friend that they go by the GPA and the reading score. They also said the only time they use the "point system" is when they have more positions to fill. But that is the grapevine; people get told different things lol. But the consistent way we are told is the point system. You need to make above national average though in TEAS. It will combine the grades for each subject and give you your adjusted total individual score and below say wether it is proficient or not. I don't know if the lvn admission points are the same as the adn.

So did yal not have to take the math section?

No we still have to take all 4 sections of the teas but really only the reading section is the one that they are looking at

The only time they look at math is if you don't have college algebra. I was told really the only time it matters is if you are up against another applicant with same gpa and same test grade, etc., then they will look at math and see who did better.

The only TEAS section that is added into the points system is the reading, however, you must score above the national average on all sections.

pq32u you said you also needed to send in a declaratory order?? Im so nervous bc I spoke with Stroud today and she said to not even register and start that with the board until I was accepted. Have you already done this?? What if I don't hear back by the time classes/clinical's start?!

I've heard of people getting in without passing all

subject of the teas. That they look at more than just your scored from the teas test. Gpa and grades from previous classes play a big part in it.

From my understanding as long as the adjusted total individual score from entire test itself is above national average. If I'm wrong I apologize in advance!(; We're all learning here lol

I did my declaratory order over the summer and was cleared by the board in September because other schools I'm applying to require it to be submitted with the application.

No need to apologize! I'm so lost right now trying to juggle all the different requirements for various schools I may well be wrong.
