Hello just wanted to start a thread for anyone applying to navarro college adn program for 2015
It's hard to compare nursing classes to micro and A&P. The style of questions on tests are completely different. It might help to get an NCLEX book or google nclex questions and get a feel for how the questions are set up. I made a C in micro and A&P 2, but I have made mostly B's and couple of A's in nursing school. The first semester can be difficult because you are trying to figure out what works best for you studying wise, and you also have a lot of tests and skills check offs on top of it. I believe the first skills check off you will have is vital signs. You can go to youtube and look up videos on how to take vital signs such as blood pressure and heart rate. You will find that youtube will be a very good resource for your skills validations.
The lectures are powerpoints. You are encouraged to read the books, but a lot of what is tested on (in my opinion) was from the powerpoints. And you will find out pretty quick which instructors pull questions from the book or what they say in lecture. Studying is different for everyone. Some people spend every free minute studying, and others study the night or morning before the test. If we had a test on a Wednesday, I would start studying on the Friday before and study a little each day. I also studied with a group. I strongly recommend studying with a group because sometimes there might be something that you missed in lecture that someone else wrote a whole paragraph of notes about.

It's really only as hard as you make it. It's definitely not easy, but it is possible to make it through. Some of my classmates have several kids and jobs on top of that and managed to make it through. You just have to make sure you are devoting enough time to studying from the very beginning. You can do it! :)
