Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know that I'm applying for the traditional program at Flagstaff and Yuma campus. My GPA is 3.70 on the nose and this will be my first time doing this stuff. I have a degree in Exercise Science so I may have taken a bit more classes than you younger guys applying to the same program, I've decided to study for the Kaplan by exclusively basically studying crash course videos. I will let you know how it goes and I just wanted to put my information out there for any future students. I take the Kaplan August 10th, so you guys will have an opportunity to see how this turns out for me and maybe you can do the same, cheers.
Literally. I mean some of the questions I would consider being completely irrelevant to be frank. Blown away, really glad I took it honestly because once the accelerated deadlines open. I'll at least have an idea. I also thought the writing portion was really difficult but I've never been good with subject-object stuff. I've gotten A's in most every bio class I've taken and still that stuff was just like weird honestly. One of them I actually don't think had a right answer and I've tried to google it at home and I just am not getting any of the options they had.
I tried messaging you directly but it says I have zero messages left to send or something. Can you email me? [email protected]
Hey guys!
I just applied to the NAU-Yuma nursing and took the Kaplan test and I am soooo mad about the science portion. I studied only anatomy and physiology and the test covered other random science questions. I'll list out some of the ones I had.
Taxonomy
Acid-base reactions
Meiosis/Mitosis
Prokaryotic/Eukaryotic
Aging (super broad)
Does anyone else have any other science subjects to include besides A&P?

The test is NOT anatomy or physiology. It is very very general bios, we're talking BIO 181 stuff, I even had a Chemistry question, taxonomy questions, prokaryotes, eukaryotes, brain functions, I studied only anatomy and physiology so I was screwed. A few of the questions are very odd and I actually still believe one had no correct answer. However, every other portion that's not the science is very straightforward. If you have questions try and DM me personally, I took this as a test and plan to apply to the accelerated program now that I know what to study.
Could you please email me at [email protected] I have a study question! thank you so so much:)

I took the test on March…and you’re right this NEW Kaplan test is very different nothing like when I tested in 2018. Apparently the school found out that some students posted the actual questions with answers in quizlet…so I’m 2020 they changed it. Now it’s basic basic ish things that also I was screwed! It’s such basic things that I don’t remember. But to answer your question I remembered a question about what the shortest sound wave (Gamma waves) and what’s the longest (Radio waves) also I remember a question on Chromosomes…sorry can’t remember the actual question.
oh yeah NAU has two versions of the Kaplan which are 2A and 2B so not everyone will be tested on the same test. IDK it the school is doing 2A for one application cycle and 2B for the other…tbh IDK. The math, writing and reading that’s all the same! Don’t bother with quizlet for Kaplan study guides for Bio or can help.
I test again September 2nd!

Same experience here! The new Kaplan has NOTHING on A&P it’s all Bio 181… Taxonomy that we all learned in Bio that order has nothing to do with nursing but once you’re in first semester you’ll see a type of Nursing taxonomy….

Your best bet I say all Biology 181, personality I did not get any A&P questions on my version of test, like I mentioned before NAU has two versions so don’t rely on questions because you don’t know what version you’re getting…just refresh on Biology 181. Reading, writing and math are all the same concepts.
good luck!
