Hey all,
I just applied to NAU for the Fall semester. I figured I'd start this topic in hopes of meeting others who have applied and we can keep each other company while we wait for letters. Please join in on the conversation if you applied for NAU fall 2013 BSN OR if you're a current student and have pointers for us. Thank you, look forward to meeting some people!
I just went as far as to look up how long it takes for a letter to be sent by USPS. I'm not kidding when I say I've kind of been obsessing over this lately haha. I have no idea how they sent them (Priority, First Class, Standard, etc.), but I have a feeling that they went a cheap route... I'm assuming (if rejections are sent as well), they have a couple hundred letters to send out, which can get expensive, so it would make sense that they do the cheapest option... Anywho, if it were first class or priority mail, it says 2-3 days. If they were actually sent on Friday, it's been that 2-3 days. If they sent standard mail (which is most likely the case), USPS's website says it can take 2-8 days. Erroring on the side of caution, it's been 4 days (if they went out early Friday, that can be counted as a day as well for 5 days), so we may possibly have 4 more to go. I did find this really cool map. You chose the shipping service and either where something originates or it's destination. It's color coded for how many days it will take for something to reach an area of the map. According to that, it'll take 5 days for the letters to come from Flagstaff and reach Tucson. For Flagstaff to Yuma or any area around Flagstaff, it says 3 days *I think*, the colors don't really exactly match. Yuma wasn't a destination option, so I could see how the map changed... But according to the "originating" in Flagstaff, the area in which Yuma is is green, 3 days. Anyways, assuming they actually sent out letters Friday, there is a good chance there are there tomorrow!
Ughhhh. This is the longest wait ever, and I hope it ends soon. On the bright side, if they were actually mailed on Friday, it is almost a guarantee that we get them this week. I still have all my fingers and toes crossed for tomorrow though! Here's to hoping.
Thankfully, I am done with all my pre-reqs. I just need to finish my semester so I can get my degree... But I've secretly kind of had a C's get degree mentality this semester haha. BUT I will finish a little better than that lol.
It kind of worries me orientation is only 5 days before classes. I feel like I have a million and one questions to be answered. That's where you current student come in I guess haha. There seems like there so much that MUST be done by June 14th, it kind of stressful to think about.

I've read all of the threads from the past few years and followed people from applying, to waiting, to letters. I've seen people post "I didn't get in", so I am sure they send a rejection letter. Whether it is at the same time or not, I have no idea, but I am pretty positive they notify you whether or not you got in... I feel like a rejection will probably go out at the same time or close to it, it's common for applicants to know each other... If one gets a letter and another doesn't, the other one is going to wonder, call, and that causes issues and takes time... (
Also, it's good to get more "insider" information about the letters. I was told last week that they would go out at the end of the week or the beginning of this week, so it seems plausible that all those envelopes you saw were for letters. Along with that, Soah has her information about them going out Friday, so if that is the case, I think they are actually IN the mail, which is promising. If everyone gets them on the same day, they must all be coming from the same place, Flagstaff. Let's keep our finger's crossed and hope we get them tomorrow! I don't think I've ever had this much anticipation for anything haha.
