OK I have posted a some what similar thread in the past but I will try again. I have spent hours upon hours researching schools and keep hitting dead ends. The dead ends are anything from exorbitant out of state tuition to more prereqs like medical ethics, genetics, or organic biochemistry or some insane point system that is not favorable to my situation. By the way it should be forbidden that each school have some random prereq that no other school requires.
I had NO IDEA this process was going to be near impossible. I was picky on where I wanted to live but at this point I will go anywhere for a 12 to 16 month ABSN that does not break the bank, has a high NCLEX pass rate and accepts average students.
Is that too much to ask? This should not be that hard.
I have applied at 4 schools so far but want to apply to at least 8 or even more. I have to start in Fall 2010 or LATEST Spring 2011. Yes I know deadlines are passing as I type this.
Please, please, please any and all suggestions welcome! Thanks!

Virginia Commonwealth University and University of Virginia have relatively little prereq requirements for their accelerated program. However, UVA's program is actually an MSN degree, but its for those who already have bachelor's degrees. As far as easy to get into, they are both pretty competitive. I applied to VCU for this May, and am on the waitlist. The earliest you would be able to start these would be Summer 2011, and their deadlines are Nov 1 and Dec 1.
VCU's prereqs for their ABSN are: Microbiology, Human A and P (8credits), Developmental Psych. They also have an AMSN where you must take: Human A and P, Statistics, and Developmental Psych and you will need to take the GRE.
UVA's are: Human A and P, college level statistics, developmental psych and the GRE if you have a GPA 3.25 or lower.
Not sure about UVA's tuition but its a public school with a an extremely good reputation. VCU's tuition is roughly 3,000-4,000 a semester not including books and living expenses. So you're looking at about 20,000 in tuition for the ABSN (again not including books and scrubs and living)

You might want to check out Western Carolina University in Asheville, NC. They have a 12 month ASBN and a BSN program.

Tuition seems reasonable as well.
