Hello! How are you liking the program. I got accepted into the FNP program for January. Can you please share your experience? Also do they help with preceptorship placement? Thanks
So far so good. Im coming up on my last couple of weeks for my 3P's. It's true what people say about these online programs. You get what you put into it! The materials they offer and how the course is set up virtually I well organized, I think. It's just A LOT of content to learn in a short period of time. A couple of my classes have zoom meetings with the teacher and the other one doesnt. It will depend on the teacher. They partner with a company called ACE. ACE will find you a preceptor, though you can find your own if you prefer. My experience with ACE was great, they found me a preceptor within 2-3 weeks of my request. Request it as early as you can.

Hi! I am also looking for schools to apply for FNPs and considering National University. Do they make you take the 3P's altogether within the same semester? How many classes do you have to take per term/semester?

Where did you end up applying to??

Joanne I really appreciate the feedback. I got accepted into National University for Jan start date and also got accepted to APU. However I have decided to go with National University. I did my BSN with APU and wasn't too impressed with their program very disorganized. Glad to hear positive feedback at National since I feel I just blindly went ahead and accepted. Is it one class at a time right?
Are you working full time while doing the program at National?
It is 3 classes at a time for a 12 week period. I started as a post masters student, so I started with the 3 P's. You can choose to take less I believe. I had a classmate that chose to take 2 only and dropped the third class. It will just hold you back a few months because you have to wait for the next cohort to start. So she will be back in January to take the next class. You should definitely discuss that in detail with your advisor if you want to take one a time.
@jz137731 hi! take a look at my last comment re:class format ?
Oh wow so 3 classes at a time? Yikes I was under the impression it would be one at a time. Are all the classes 12 weeks? Also are you able to work while in the program. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
Yea, I don't know why the site says four week courses. maybe its only for some programs. So far both of my terms have been twelve weeks. We get an almost three week break during the holidays. I think all of my cohort are working full time. Some are still bedside 3 12's, some nights, and some are m-f 8-5 like myself. It's not easy and will definitely take a lot of effort to manage, But we are all doing it and so can you! The one thing that helps is that we don't have to physically go to class. Though some instructors have zoom classes. They are not mandatory or a part of your grade but it is helpful to attend.
