Hello, Im creating a thread for those who are applying to National University SD cohort 39 starting july 2014. I figured we can all post our experience through this process of applying.

When I clicked accept, the comments box turned gray and unclickable. Then I went back to the application page and saw that my status had changed from "Acceptance Offered" to "Applicant Accepted." I think that as long as you have that, you're good to go.
@Dukesmama, I think that what JJ meant is that they'll send us an email regarding orientation, fees, and other deadlines/requirements for those of us who accept the seat that they are offering. The purpose of the Accept/Deny option is to let them know that we do indeed plan on attending NU instead of another school.
Yep, that is how I understood it also. I don't think once you hit the accept or deny button that it locks you into accepting the seat, I think until the first day of orientation you can back out. I am 98% sure I am going to National regardless of what I hear from another school I am looking at but there is always that possibility that things could change and I think (how I understood it at least) that you can back out after the fact, it is impossible to find out from every school at the exact same time and they are only giving us a week to say yes or no :)
onelanalove,
Same boat! I wonder if any fees are due prior to orientation or if they are due by that date. I kind of expected there to be a deposit due when I clicked "accept," but I was pleasantly surprised!
Does anyone know if NU has done away with ATI testing or not? I heard SDSU did, and I've heard mixed reviews about the exams.
@kris1022 and @jackychan, yes if you reapply to cohort 40 you would have to take the new classes. I was debating on postponing my acceptance to cohort 40 but then they said you would have to take the new classes as well, which is why I chose cohort 39 instead. The basis for that is you are not locked into a catalog year which is why many people advise that you keep checking every year before apply to a nursing program bc requirements change. I know it sucks but yes you would have to take them. But if you were applying to let's say sdsu or csusm additionally you would have some of the prerequisites like chemistry that NU added on.
@pugaholic. Yes sdsu decided to be gone with ati testing it was faulty and did not work properly. Some of my friends went there and were glad they did so because it was more hassle than anything

I have a friend in Cohort in cohort 36, she told me they still have it for that cohort. Not sure if they have done away with it yet

By the way, when you guys clicked accept, did the options/comment section just turn gray or did it take you to another page?
