National University - LA Generic Entry Cohort 23 (Apr 2020)

Published

Starting this thread as many of us will be completing ILR & BST in the next couple of months. In my next post, I'll post info that I received during the info session I attended in April.

I attended the info session April 2018 and they answered a lot of my questions, I'm jotting some info that was provided but also note that you will need to attend an info session before applying to the program.

Here's some info that they provided:

Estimated Tuition: $45-$50K

Orientation: $250 & $2,450 (Done a month prior to start date)

Regionally accredited

2.75 overall GPA to apply

The points are divided into 3 categories:

Category 1 - Science & Math GPA (40%)

Anatomy

Physiology

Microbiology

Biomedical Stats (NU specific)

*Category 2 - TEAS (40%)

They will no longer proctor the test after this April deadline Cohort

If you're applying to the April 2020 Cohort you will need to schedule your TEAS outside.

They take your highest score (you can test multiple times)

They advised having at least 80%+ to be competitive

TEAS Locations

* Category 2 - Interview (20%)

They said this will also be a major change as the essay portion will be converted into an interview starting with the April 2020 Cohort.

If you don't have a BA/BS you will also need to take the following co-reqs that they recommend you take as soon as you get accepted into the program:

SPN 340A - Spanish for the Work Place

SPN 341 - Cross-Cultural Communication

ILR 260 - Information Literacy (Pre-req)

You might be able to challenge or test out if you already speak Spanish.

Hey love,

i finished the BST 322 and the ILR 260 and I’m on my way to take the teas soon. How did you do these past couple months? How are you?

Hi friend,

I finished BST 322 with Dr. Allen and I'm taking Library Science 101 at community college to challenge ILR 260 since I have Eng 102 done already.

I took the TEAS last month but got a 78% :(

I'm taking it again at the end of the month to hopefully score higher, I'm really focusing on National since all the other CC's have been a bust and I've been rejected twice now.

How are you doing? When are you going to take the TEAS?

I haven’t even set up a date for my Teas. And same here! All the other CC’s don’t mesh well with my schedule it seems, and some of my classes (Pre reqs) were taken from a private college and it won’t transfer over and I’m not taking it again. As for national, they took it. And I’m glad. Hey! 78%! Is a really good score! nevertheless, you are right. You should score higher. We can do this. What grade did you get on BST 322?

and as for applying, I have to really hustle to pay off those two classes before I can even apply.

Yeah, I'm retaking it because the lady at the info session said to try and score at least 80% ? & I got an A for BST 322, Dr. Allen was great and gave a lot of extra credit (for any of you that are planning on taking BST).

How did you do on BST & ILR? I hated that we couldn't use financial aid for these courses and we have to pay out of pocket ?

Also, I know it's a hustle to pay for these classes and on top of that pay for the TEAS, but if you're able to - look into scheduling your TEAS as they fill up real quick.

I did well in BST AND ILR. both Got A’s. Now I’m studying for the TEAS. I took your advice and made appointment for my first EVER TEAS test this September. I’m nervous... ?

That's awesome, you got this! Good luck!!

Did you submit your application already? When I log into SOAR it lets me submit an application for Spring 2020 already.

I wouldn't be able to since I have to pay off the classes I took. it's hard since I have bills up the butt. I'm trying.
