------------------- told me interviews will be online. She said the program is online too. Anyone able to speak to any faculty?

Interesting. On their website it states that front loaded didactic and simulation is onsite. I wonder if this is a new change with COVID....

Yes this is obviously a modification due to COVID... I interviewed last year but didn't hear anything this year ??. But I know 2 students- one got in last year and one is in his 2nd year starting clinicals. They had a mass exodus of faculty including the program director and assistant director, as well as one of the difficult physiology professor. The first year student said they up and left in the middle of the curriculum so it's been an adjustment.

Learning has switched to online for the foreseeable future. Rotations were on hold but have resumed.

WOW!... that's crazy about the faculty leaving! Do the students you know like the program? How was the interview process if you don't mind me asking?

One girl lost 20+ lbs because she said she gets tired when she eats, so she stopped eating to be able to stay up and study?. Otherwise they like the program as much as you can like being tortured for 3 years straight haha. The other student starting rotations said the new director is trying to limit travel and keep you in one rotation as much as possible. Not sure if this is d/t COVID or just his approach.

For me, the interview was all personal- they don't care what you know because they can teach it to you.

However, with new faculty I'd imagine this has changed substantially, otherwise I thought I'd have been invited back this year...???

She also said she found it difficult to learn the schematics of an anesthesia machine online without seeing and touching the one in their sim lab.

I heard similar responses that the director and other instructors left. There is only one instructor now. Tuition is well over 100,000 too.

A buddy of mine who attended the University owe more than 200k USD in student loan.

I received an invite to interview as well.

The adm assistant would not provide me of any details regarding the interview process, names of panel members, length of interview etc.

Judging from the email, it seems the interview will be held on - Sept 5 and 19. 12 invites altogether, and it seems the interview runs 20 mins long via zoom. Does anyone know what is their class size? (Per their website - it seems like its typically 15-17, but they are only interviewing 12 people this time?)

Things I've heard regarding the interview:

1. They only ask basic, get to know you questions - to gauge your readiness

2. Some IQ type of an exam from ATI?? < --? something like NCLEX I assume

3. Some writing as well

But due to COVID, I am not sure what they have planned for us. Just my two cents from what I have gathered from friends.

I think they’re doing more like 40+ interviews. 1 interview every 20 minutes, over 8 hours, over 2 days. Unless she specifically said they’re only doing 12 interviews?

a colleague at work connected me with someone in their first year and I was able to talk with them.  She said Covid has certainly made things challenging, but that what she thought she was going to get Out of the program is not what she is actually getting.  She said it was good the first quarter until all the faculty left. They have only had a couple simulation experiences and will be going to clinical soon. They mostly teach themselves everything by reading the book and YouTubing things on their own. She said some tried to transfer schools but it wasn’t feasible. She said the whole class is really scared, plus there are not a lot of clinical rotations now. After hearing all this I called and left a message and canceled my interview. I know it will be expensive anywhere, but it sounded like things were too up in the air there.

Thank you for sharing this with us.... National was initially my top choice but this definitely changes things. Did she mention why the faculty quit?

Here’s what I’ll tell you. Do what you feel is best for you. We have had a change in faculty.... FOR THE BETTER. We didn’t lose our assistant program director, he is now our program director. We have moved to online due to COVID, as have almost all other schools (others have also required their students to take a leave of absence - so which would you prefer?) Further, there have been challenges with simulation lab time, not the fault of our faculty as they have done their best, but because of the university itself. We are behind on simulation, but it is apparent our faculty is dedicated to getting us up to speed as they are spending their weekends and post shifts getting us into the sim lab. So ultimately, we are apart of a program that truly cares, that wants their students to succeed, and will do what they can to make sure that happens. So it’s all up to you and what you’re looking for in a program. I’ll tell you, unless the school has been online for awhile, there are going to be learning curves and growing pains with any program you choose to apply to. Good luck to all of you and I wish you the best!

edited to clear up that NO ONE tried transferring schools...
