Hi!

I haven't found a thread yet for NU's Cohort 83, so I figured I'd make one.

Trying to see who else has dropped an application & has been nervous about it. Deadline should have been May 9th.

Thanks! ~

Good luck on the interviews today! & I hope whomever had them yesterday did well and can feel like they can breathe a little bit again LOL.

@chewletta The interview was about 5 minutes long and my questions were pretty direct. They asked why I wanted to be a nurse, what my background is in healthcare, how I would handle the rigor of the program and the schedules, and how I would handle a negative situation that could potentially impact a patient. Best of luck to you today!!

That's good!! Yes I think everyone gets different questions. Do you guys have healthcare experience?

The only healthcare experience I had was the CNA license that I got in 2015, but never got to use it. Shortly after I certified I enlisted in the Navy, so formal experience no. Military experience, yes.

That's really good then!. I wonder what they are looking for. I wasn't too confident in the interview because of the questions I was asked I didn't expect. I'm hoping my CNA experience will make up for it. I expected questions like yours but not what I would do if I had a conflict with another student or the professor. I'm hoping I get in, I answered the questions as best as I can. Do you know how many people they gave an interview out to?

I am sure you did better than what you give yourself credit for! Give yourself some grace. Interviews are always nerve wracking, so it's easy to think back and think you fumbled an answer. I know I was thinking back on my answers and was disappointed because I thought of a better answer after the fact... But, it is what it is now, and all I can do now is hope for the best too. I am sure your CNA experience will count for a lot!

As far as numbers go, I have no idea 😞 I should have asked them what they asked me if I had any questions at the end. I know in the pre-nursing forum, they said interview a maximum of 60 people, then decided on 40 total after the fact.

Hey everyone. I had my interview today and I was asked why National... how I handle my mistakes... what is the difference in diversity and inclusion. I feel l did okay, she did mention that if she could choose who gets accepted she would pick everyone cause everyone does so good in their interview. But it's based off of a point system, how well we did on our GPA, our experience in the healthcare, and our TEAS score. Sigh let's all just hope for the best. 🙌🏼

Dang, They hit you with some thought provoking questions! Hopefully we all did well enough to get selected 🥲 The wait is gonna kill me again... just like waiting for an interview.

I know the wait is the worst! I was so nervous when waiting for my interview. I was told that supposedly once you get an interview, they don't know your GPA and TEAS. That from there is just based on how you answer the questions and your healthcare experience. The interviewer told me we should know in about a week and that "I can call to find out sooner as well" I've never heard of anyone calling to find out. I don't think I will call, I will wait for an interview but I really do hope it's an a week🤞I will keep you guys updated as soon as I find out.

Hello,

I got interviewed last June 10th.

We both got the same questions!

I read somewhere here that their interview was only 5 minutes.

I was freaking out because mine was somewhere in 10-minute mark.

That's good! Mine was really short like 5 minutes. Hopefully we all find out in a week.

Hi, I applied to this cohort and today was my interview. I'm very nervous I saw a lot of people. I had a 3.6 GPA and 94.7 TEAS and was able to get an interview with that. So nervous now that I did my interview and I have to wait again to find out if I got in.

Hey, we have the same TEAS score 😄
