National University - Cohort 61 -SD

Hi,

I wanted to start this for those who are applying to Cohort 61. Has anyone been to a recent nursing info session where they've gone over anything about the newly added interview component?

Thanks!

When I asked Kyle before interviews he said that alternates are basically considered waitlists now instead of how they used to be guaranteed a spot. But do not let this discourage you, as I am sure there will be a few who may decide to not accept so don't lose hope!

Thank you! I’m trying not to lose hope. This whole process has been sooo emotional. I work for Scripps and the doctors I work for and all my coworkers have been rooting for me now I have to wait once again

That’s awesome! Which Scripps do u work at? I use to work at mercy.

Prebys or memorial?

That’s great! I hope you get in! Don’t lose hope.

I definitely understand. This was my second round of applying and I got denied so I feel you on the emotional aspect. It's brutal and gets discouraging but your scores are great and you are so close so don't let this stop you from getting there!

How did you know you got denied? What were your scores? I’m sorry to hear that

I called and got connected to a general advisor who was able to look into my portal. My gpa was low at 3.4 and TEAS 86 so I was expecting to get denied...

Don’t get discouraged your teas is awesome! And honestly your scores won’t determine the type of nurse you’ll be one day. This is just a way for schools to filter out students specially when there isn’t enough programs in San Diego and it’s so damn competitive. I’m sure there are a lot of people out there who would be great nurses regardless if they score or high enough or not! Don’t give up.

UGHHH! It's sooo emotional... I'm going to retake my TEAS if I don't get a spot this time around
