I live in Poway....what about you?

Have you started studying for the TEAS yet??

I applied for the July cohort and am just waiting on the testing dates. I took the teas test version 4 last year and it was pretty tough. The hardest part for me was re teaching myself the basics of long division, and multiplication/addition/subtraction of fractions, basic stuff that I had become so dependent upon calculators for. Also I remember there were a lot of questions on converting fractions to decimals and percents, and taking percents of numbers, or asking what percentage of a certain number is 5 for example. I also remember having to convert celcius to farenheit, and other life science. I studied a lot and did okay but I'm definitely nervous for the version 5. I am also nervous for the essay test. I have no idea what kind of question to expect, but I remember they said in the nursing forum that they are sticklers for grammar and punctuation in your essay. I am just hoping that I can get a testing date in March because I am getting married in mid February and will be gone on my honeymoon til March 1st. I called the office and she told me the testing dates which havent been sent out yet will be Feb. 16-March 15, and they schedule in alphabetical order so Im hoping for a March date, but we will see.

I'm up in Lake Elsinore. I have slowly started studying. I can only study the English area so much, I find it a bit boring, so then I move the math. Haha, how about you?

I've been studying for a while now, it's been quite sporadic though to be honest. I am up to the science section of the ATI version V manual. Once I have finished making my way through it I am going to take one of the practice tests and see what areas I need to focus on more....

I am starting to get nervous now though, I guess cohort 30 received their notices over the weekend.....so we should be getting our testing dates soon!

What day have you guys been scheduled for for the TEAS and essay? Mine is for May 2! So nervous! Cant wait for this to be out of the way though!!!

May 2nd?? Mine is for March 2nd in Rancho Bernardo :) Now I need to get my butt in gear and amp up my studying. I took a practice test last week in my Teas Version V Manual and I really need to work on my science area. Good luck!!

Sorry!! I meant March 2nd at RB! I guess I was wishing it would be May 2nd ;)!

That's how I feel, I've taken a few of the tests and have done ok, but I feel that it's going to be pretty tough!

Do you know about where you stand with your grades/# of attempts?

I feel like that too. I am so overwhelmed. I just received an e-mail from my admissions person and she said that the nursing department will do my gpa evaluation since they were bombarded with requests. What do you mean about # of attempts?

Do you know if we don't do well on this if we can retake the teas again?

Interesting, my admissions advisor was able to do mine, but I think this was the first time that they were asked to do it and it didn't work out too well. One less thing for you to worry about! I was stressing on getting that done!

I was wondering if you knew where you stand on total points right now, like how your science/math GPA was and if you've taken them more than once. I've taken all of mine once (thank goodness) and I think I have 47 points total right now out of the possible 50. I think....

As for the TEAS, I am pretty sure that if you haven't taken version V already you can only submit the one from this Friday. You're allowed to take it more than once, however, because of the time restraints for the application the scores are due on the day we take the essay and TEAS (I think). If for some reason you don't get into this cohort and you apply again you are allowed to take the TEAS again.

I hope this helps clarify!

So glad that the TEAS and essay are done! Now its the waiting game! How did everyone do??
