National University Cohort 81 - deadline November 8, 2024

Published

Hello everyone!

I am making this thread for anyone who is applying for NU's cohort 81. The application deadline for this cohort is on November 8, 2024. This is my second time applying for the program after getting denied from the last cohort due to my TEAS score. My stats are 3.73 GPA and 94 on the TEAS which I retook the other day. I also have 3 years of healthcare experience working mainly in behavioral health.

Looking forward to chat with all of you here 🙂

I'm so sorry.  Don't give up!

Interesting. I've been glued to my phone all day, and every time I get an unrelated email I find myself getting so frustrated. I just want to get an email already!

Thank you  Brooke for the heads up!

It's OK, it is what it is. I was beating myself up, but I will just try one more time and that's it... I'm done. But keep me posted on your experience everyone.
thank you for being active on this thread.

Did they give you options on interview times or just tell you the time and you are expected to be able to attend?

I can't imagine it takes more then one afternoon to send out these emails, but who knows. I don't want to have anxiety about this all weekend.

did anyone else get declination emails that anyone is aware of?

I'm sorry Karina. I know the feeling very well. How long ago did you finish taking your science courses? Would you be able to retake just one to boost up your GPA? I think it's safe to say the program wants our GPAs to be 3.6+ and 90+ on the TEAS. At least that's what an advisor told me back in August when she explained it to me.

Keep going and don't lose hope! If this is the path you want, you'll make it happen in time. It will be your turn soon!

When I got the interview invite, I was given a designated date and time. The only way I can reschedule for this is if I have an illness, jury duty, bereavement, etc.

Thank you. I don't know what to think at this point.  Keep my fingers crossed.

I hope you get yours! What are your stats if you don't mind me asking?

So I actually am a sharp employee and they have a new partnership where they accept up to 8-10 LVNs who are employed by sharp.  So my stats are likely lower than yours.  My math/science GPA is a 3.3/3.4 I believe and I got an 85 on the TEAS. But they hold those spots for sharp employees so the pool of applicant statistics im competing with will likely be lower than what the generic entry will be (but I could be wrong). I also had to apply as a second bachelors degree as I already have one. I wonder if the application type has anything to do with it? IDK. I could rack my brain forever.

I'll figure it out eventually. If I have to retake the TEAS I guess I will.

That's so interesting! I wonder if there are other students from Sharp also applying. It's hard to gauge what the program is looking for in our applications, but your stats are good! And the fact that you're an LVN already is awesome! Manifesting for you to get yours!

I work at Scripps and I always see NU students coming in for their clinicals in my unit. I'm digging their uniforms and sometimes imagine myself wearing them when it's my turn 🤣

Aww thank you that is so kind.  I hope I get some response soon.
