Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone is currently attending NAU this semester. I am in the process of applying for the program would love to get some feedback about how its going so far and if it is worth the cost. Right now I'm not so sure, I attend classes at the Independence campus and I'm feeling a little skeptical right now due to the out of pocket cost that was not discussed with me when applying and also the comments the staff makes about the nursing instructors at Zona Rosa.

Hey kellmvb, Sorry it's taken so long to get back here and reply. I left NAU in August 2014. Tuition went up to $325 per credit hour Fall Quarter in September 2014. Whoever told you it was $400, was lying!!! lol I still have friends that go there and are in their clinicals and they said their tution did not go up to $400, that's ridiculous anybody would tell you that or give you a piece of paper saying that!? lol

Reply to previous comment, Don't worry about your TEAS being taken at NAU. Like I said previously, when a friend turned her app in, they had her submit them electronically then! :) She was chosen as an alternate, and ended up going to NAU and graduates in May this year! :)

In regards to your last comment, The 2nd Wed in August date is for the Winter Start Jan 2016. Applying NEXT WEEK (Finally!!!) would be for the Fall Start Aug 2015! Their site is definitely confusing at times! Application Period that starts next week should run Wed, Jan 7th- Wed, Jan 21! Hopefully we can get some real clarification on Monday when they are open again!!! :)

Thanks for the clarification happy to hear your friend graduates soon! maybe we can keep this thread active during the application period.

I'm happy she'll be graduating and getting out of NAU! She's been through hell and back with that place! Lol & yes I think we can keep this thread going through the application process or always start a new one that is directed towards PV applications!

I called this morning to confirm the application period starts today.

They said it starts today?? That makes no sense! Why does their website not say that? Lol It's so frustrating that people don't know when they can apply because the website says differently!

It is very frustrating! I will post date my application for the 7th but I called around 8 and was told it starts today. There are about 3 different dates on the website. I wanted to ask for further clarification but whenever I reach someone on the phone they don't know any more than I do.

I plan on hand delivering my application, but had planned to do that on Wednesday. I hate to call them AGAIN. Lol I work down the street from there so I'll feel better turning it in by hand, knowing that they got it, especially after the whole TEAS confusion with not submitting them electronically because they said not to, but I do have my scores attached as the application states as well. Not sure what chance I have getting in but I was accepted the first time I applied at NAU, so we shall see what happens, and I guess if I'm not accepted I'll just plan to reapply in August :/ Are you taking any classes this semester?

Hand delivery sounds like a good idea seriously I hate calling also I don't want to be a nag but they should seriously update the departments website. I don't have any classes to take this semester I have completed every general class needed I am so bored I am going nuts. Are you taking any classes this semester? Good Luck! I hope we're all accepted.

I feel hand delivering is better so I know it's there! Lol I'm taking History 120 for 1st 8 weeks online and Intro to Communications the 2nd 8 weeks online. Those are the only 2 classes I have left to take and then I'll just have nursing classes left which should definitely help throughout the program!

I don't blame you with all the mix ups and the conflicting information. Is Intro to Communications Speech 102? or Speech 100? History was an easy A for me but I had a really laid back instructor. I think you'll enjoy those classes. Did you take A&P l at NAU?

Sorry, It's Speech 102. Lol I took all of my other classes at NAU besides Psych and Chem, A&P 1 and 2, Micro, Sociology, Algebra, Comp, Human Life, & then Pathophysiology and Nutrition were required by NAU for the program as well. One of my nursing classes shows as an F, and the other shows as a withdrawal, even though I dropped them both at the same time!! Still working to get that fixed but because nursing classes won't transfer they said it doesn't matter and they'll only be looking at Chem, Psych, A&P, and Micro. Idk if when they calculate the GPA they include Micro or not but idk if it matters too much either lol

Another thing I didn't realize until last night is like my human life shows 3.0 credit hours transferred under "grades" but on the nursing program plan it shows it should be 4 ch? Same for Micro, Micro shows 4 ch, but the nursing program plan shows 5 ch? At NAU, Micro (with lab) was 6, and Human Life was 4.5?! Weird! But all of my classes transferred with less credit hours?? Idk how credit hours are decided from school to school but I just find that odd... I went from 44 credit hours at NAU, and all my classes transferred in but only as, 29.33 credit hours. Nutrition transferred as a biology elective with 1.33 units?!! Lol
