nasty smells

Does it really work to put vicks under your nose to avoid smelling nasty things?

I bought Vicks and cough drops, but I haven't used either of them yet. I just put a mask on and also spray air freshner. So far no one has been complaining. The way I see it, foul smells are distracting and interfere with my ability to do a quick proper clean up.

my instructor(still in class for CNA ) informed us that we couldnt use vicks,:nono:she said that is not very professional .:icon_rollI said "what"?,wouldnt it be a whole lot more professional than me gagging/throwing up etc..???? she said"suck it up girlie" wow! I'm thinking I will have to sneak it,lol!:D

Haha...after a month or two, I got to the point that most smells did not bother me. The one exception was occasionally there would be a really nasty colostomy that would make me dry heave and gag. Yikes. I never used Vicks, but I did start chewing mint gumand putting on strong mint lip balm before I went to deal with colostomies.
