Specializes in ICU.

Hello! My husband has a job opportunity in Nashville and I'm interested in finding out more about the area hospitals, best places to live, cost of living and salaries. I currently work for an HCA facility in FL in a trauma ICU with 7 years of experience, 6 being in ICU.

I know Nashville is HCA's corporate headquarters, but not familiar with the hospitals themselves.

We have young children and good school districts will be important. We also don't need to live in the city, looking for good neighborhoods with affordable homes. Thanks for any insight or info you can provide!

Vanderbilt has a great Trauma ICU program and I very much enjoy the facility. There are several hospitals in the area but many of them divert ICU/Trauma pts to . To get a good range of hospitals, salaries and benefits, I suggest applying at St Thomas and Vanderbilt. I live about 30 miles south of Nashville and commute which almost everyone I work with who has a family does. Nashville is growing very fast and rent prices/COL is very high in the city as compared to the outskirts. I dont mind the commute at all and love my home in the "country" Good luck.
