Napa Valley College Spring 2021

Hi All!

Just wanted to start a forum for NVC Spring 2021 ADN program!

@Brittny Siles CNA I feel ya! It’s pretty discouraging. I even had my app in at 9am however the person handling my package didn’t give me the receipt so he had to go back and print it afterwards, which is why my time stamp was for 9:01 and not 9:00. All we can do is stay optimistic and hope there aren't too many alternates.

did you apply to any other programs?

When I emailed the form back to her I asked if she could tell me how many people were ahead of me on the alternate list. ?

@Rocky Karpik Dm me ☺️ If u can

Hi

I had a 901 time stamp as well and received the alternate email this morning around noon. I called Margarita to inquire the way they are handling it and if it was numbered. She said it is not numbered and still going by time, and did not tell me how many people are on it. She said they will be calling down the list as people drop up until the day before school starts. She was unable to tell me where I sat on the list.

Good luck everyone!

I also read on last years forum that there were two groups of 10 alternates that were organized by time & that orientation holds room for 10 alternates, & an invitation to the uniform fitting is a good sign. Cheers to waiting a bit longer!

@Sydnie Cheers to that! Any idea how many Alternates were invited to the uniform fitting last year? Considering there were people with 9:02 time stamps that got alternate spots, us 9:01 people can’t be too far down the waitlist.

No I’m not sure unfortunately! But looks like the fitting was possibly in December! I’m more nervous that they just send the alternate list to way more people than necessary, and tough to say how many 9:01s there are, and how they are deciphering which are at top of list.

I was an alternate last year with a timestamp of 9:04! however I didn’t get in last year (my time was pretty far off, I was surprised I was even considered as an alternate). the year prior, my friend also was an alternate with 9:04 and ended up getting in the program.

getting accepted as an alternate mostly depends on the 40 accepted people. some may reject their acceptance because they got accepted into other schools, some may not make it to orientation, and some may not have all the requirements necessary (I.e. background check, physical exam, etc). last year 1 or 2 people didn’t show up for orientation, so the first 2 alternates were offered to be in the program shortly.

for alternates, don’t lose hope! but... at the same time, don’t rely on NVC to accept you either. that was my big mistake last year; I dwelled on the fact that I would end up getting accepted as an alternate, and ended up just hurting myself mentally and emotionally. be persistent and don’t give up! I wish every single person the best of luck! ❤️

@Sydnie I’m guessing they choose whomever looks better on the app if two people have the same time stamp. That’s what would make the most sense to me.

I had 9:02 time stamp and received an alternate letter as well. Last year I was 9:04 and got wait listed too. So I’m staying hopeful. Congrats to everyone who got accepted & good luck to alternates ?

My friend had a time stamp of 2:00pm, and I am surprised she received an alternate letter. Now I’m thinking they just sent them to everyone that didn’t get in.

Hi.

I received an email from Margarita Ceja stating that I qualified, but I'm on the waitlist.

For those of you that got in already, any chance they have mentioned the required books? I'm curious if they're the same one's Santa Rosa and College of Marin are requiring. Could someone let me know?
