Hello everyone,
I am sending out applications for my first RN job and because I have been a stay at home mom for the last 6 years, and before that I only concentrated on college, I do not have recent employment history. I have volunteer research assistant experience, but my caregiver experience is since 10-13 years ago. Should I put it on the resume or is it too old? I also didn't like my supervisor back then, and I wouldn't want to contact her now to ask her to be a reference.
Any thoughts? Please help, as the deadline is tomorrow and I am not sure what to do regarding the 10+ caregiving experience.
Thank you so much.

I stayed home with my kids for many years before becoming an RN. I had a section on my resume for "related experience" and "other experience." Under related I put my student preceptorship and hospital volunteer experience, and under other, I put everything else... Sports board volunteering, other unrelated part time jobs from long ago, etc. I only provided recent references... So you can list the job with no expectation that anyone will be contacted there.
I'd also advise you to make use of your schools career center, they may have a resume review service.
Thank you, Dranger! :) It keeps life interesting for me when I pick my nicknames on websites where I need a username. Caligula wasn't the Emperor's real name but a nickname. Check it out if you are interested. :) Thank you again.:)
Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus :)
He wasn't worthy of his full name haha
So you were curious...:)
