I graduated in 2014 and had a difficult time passing NCLEX. First time, I took NCLEX I prepped using the Kaplan review course which is what my school provided. I did all that was required online, taking every test and reading every rationale. Kaplan wants you to score at least above 65%. On some days I would score near that range and on other days I would score horribly. I sat for boards after finishing up Kaplan and failed at 240 questions. I felt awful after failing, but didn't beat myself up too much being that it was my first time and I truly didn't know what to expect. I wasn't giving up though. I started preparing to take NCLEX for the second time. This time around I didn't use my Kaplan resource being that I had already answered all there questions and could remember some of their answers. I also didn't want to continue using a review course that didn't work for me. I just answered NCLEX questions from my Davis book because at that point, I really didn't know what else to do besides answering questions. Just like Kaplan, some days I would score better than others which just killed my self-esteem. I sat for boards a second time and failed at 75 questions. This time I thought sheesh I really failed horriblyâ€. I knew right then and there that I had to make some major change. I came across a Hurst review poster one day and it immediately caught my attention when it said there pass rate was 99%. I researched it and liked what they had to offer. Thankfully, they had a course within the next week for their class, so I signed up with two of my classmates who also were unsuccessful (one failed 3x and the other 1x). Their class was amazing!!! The instructors were so animated and they broke down everything you need to know so simple and easy. They provide a book and suggest you to know that book inside and out before you sit for boards. I reviewed the book at least three times and did all 6 tests that they provide. I made med flash cards for the meds that they mention in the book and flash cards for lab values and anything that would be easy to forget. I reviewed my online content and just went to take boards as confident as I could be. I felt like at that point I reviewed all I could and honestly gave it my all. I sat to take my test and after 2 hours, 75 questions later my computer shut off. I couldn't believe it!! I swore I failed. But 2 days later my license was posted online. I had PASSED!!!! The best feeling in the world!!!!! The Hurst review was truly the best investment I made. Their practice test mock NCLEX exactly. They prepare you with all you need to know. If you are unsure which review course to take it all depends on the strength of your content. Kaplan is good for students who have a solid content foundation because they teach test taking strategies which are difficult to apply if you don't know your content. Hurst is content based and I can assure you that once you take Hurst, NCLEX will seem like just another Hurst test. You will recall information during your test that you studied and everything will seem like it makes sense. I mean NCLEX was difficult, im not saying it was easy but with the knowledge HURST gives you, you will be able to pick apart each answer and choose the right one.
Also, the good pop up didn't work for me. It was allowing me to reregister even after I passed. I just went to my state boards website to make sure my license was active and a week later I received my license in the mail
Good Luck to everyone who has yet to take NCLEX and I hope my post helps out with anyone who is unsure on what to do with NCLEX :)

Congrats on passing! I love Hurst and felt like it made my first experience with the Nclex-Rn easy because I had a good foundation for content and can narrow down answer choices to two knowing why a disease occurs. Hurst is such a good review. It's no wonder their pass rate is so high.
