I took some of your advice and set up my first interview! I'm moving to IL right after graduation so I'm a bit nervous. I e-mailed two hospitals both of them e-mailed me back asking if I'd be in the area before the move. SOOOOOO I took the plunge, bought a plane ticket for spring break, e-mailed them back and already have a confirmed interview!!!!
WAHOOO!!!! Of course, this hospital is the one that I really, really want to work at. It has a great reputation with a low turn-over rate, etc. When I went to their website tonight they didn't have many job listings....but the nurse recruiter really seemed like she was trying to sell me already on their benefits, etc.
