Currently, my school only has a AAS program.

But they are implementing a 4 year degree, and I have heard it's through distance learning. Do you guys reccommend this? How does it work? Can I have a job and do this at the same time? Do employers look down upon online/distance learning degrees as opposed to actual degrees from campuses? Does it say you achieved the degree through distance learning on the actual degree?

I would see if you're able to find out more about the program from your school. Distance learning is a broad term that could encompass several different formats. Some distance programs allow the student to work at the same time, but again, it's probably a question best addressed by your school.

Employers will vary in how they look at your distance education degree, but here's my personal experience: After I graduated from a nursing distance program, I put in one application at my first choice unit/hospital and I received the job. If you earned your AAS the traditional way, then went for an RN-to-BSN by distance, I think that would be no big deal at all. Online RN-to-BSN programs are becoming very popular for working nurses.

When a traditional school (sometimes referred to as a brick-and-mortar, or B&M school) offers a distance degree, it usually doesn't specify on the diploma that the degree was earned by distance education.
