I give thanks to God Almighty and His son Jesus Christ for giving me success in the exam. I graduated 2002 from nursing school in Nigeria.I am also a Registered Nurse in the United Kingdom.I passed my NCLEX RN after the 3rd attempt.Yes, it took me 3 attempt to pass this exam.I have not failed any exams in my life but it happened with NCLEX RN. I do come here and learningext.com to read success stories and I believe that it helped me greatly to know the res
ources to use.
Before taking my exams for the last time, I prayed to God Almighty for His Wisdom because, I could not do it on my own and God gave me that. You need faith, Prayers and studying for success.
I used the following resources:
NCSBN
SAUNDERS 6th ed
LIPPINCOTTS 11th ed (CD) only
PDA.(Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment
I bought the 5weeks and 3weeks for NCSBN,
I read the 6th ed of Saunders from cover to cover and made 2 notes on content and 1 for Pharmacology.
I made 1 more note from Rationales.
In all, I had 4 notes which I read over and over again before my exams.I also prayed as I study because I realized that for my previous exams, I was relying on my intelligence. All my days in school, I have relied on God and HE did not fail me.I guess I know better now to put HIM in all I do.
Saunders can be overwhelming but PLEASE do take notes on important topics and I finished ALL the questions fron NCSBN.I only did a few chapters from PDA maybe 5 or 6.
On my exam day,I prayed and asked God for calmness and His guidance on picking the right answers. I had 20 SATA ( I tallied as I get Them),3 drag and drop,3 med calculations and the rest were priority.pharmacology and some assignment for UAP and LPN.MY exam ended with 75 questions.
I took the exams on 5/6/2015 in California and my name was online on 5/8/2015.I shed tears of Joy after seeing my name and I thanked God for giving me the grace, strength, knowledge and wisdom to pass this exam.
Finally, please PRAY,READ and have FAITH and you will pass.NCSBN is the closest to this exam because the questions are similar. You also need SAUNDERs .2 days before my exams I read chapter 5 of Saunders.
I read JAMES 1 vs 5,6 ,Matthew 21 vs 22 .
I also read Psalm 75 and 92 thanking GOD for success for my exams.
It is a good feeling to pass this exam. I am a Registered Nurse in NIGERIA,UNITED KINGDOM and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.GOODLUCK TO ALL NURSES TAKING THIS EXAM.

Congratulations! That is fantastic! I am so happy for you and yes you are right always put God first. He knows best. He has blessed me so much in my life I have been praying and studying like crazy. I have another 6 weeks to write so by the grace of God I pass. I'm using NCSBN, Hurst and LaCharity. How did you find the questions on NCSBN compared to NCLEX. I am having a hard time answering them.
Hi FutureCanadianRN
Thanks.NCSBN questions are the closest you will get on the actual NCLEX.I saw some similarities during my exams.I scored b/w 38% to 100%. Try to understand the rationales also.BEST WISHES.
