I took mine in Oct 17 Friday Pearson Vue Anaheim, Ca.
I'm still waiting for the result.. BON updated the list today but nothing was added....last license issue was in Oct.17 (lic # 738599).
This was my second attempt ...I have not completed my review during my first attempt...I was forced to take the test because I forgot to reschedule my Test (you can't reschedule if you only have less than 24 hrs before the test)...
I did my best....ending the test at 265..my result were all "Near Passing" in all categories.
Lesson learned during my first attempt includes the ff;
1. I should have finished my review and do more CD.
2. Concentrate on the Test and never look at the time..In short Don't Rush!!! Guessing is not really to your advantage...use it only when you have exhausted all options.
3. Review not just to pass NCLEX-RN but because you want to be a good nurse.
So In my Second attempt,,I was more than ready....I finished my review..read Saunder's Compre. cover to cover...completed Saunders CD ( study mode) and Saunder's CD alternate Q. I didn't memorized S/S of diseases...I learned that it's easier to know S/S if you understand the pathophysiology of the diseases.
I did a lot of CD practice and became addicted to it..LOL Until now after the test I still do CD practice...
2 days before the Test....I did Kaplan Nclex Q trainer...#1 to #7 ( took time in each Q and never paid attention to the time limit... Kaplan allows you to continue even you ran out of time)... I was getting 65% consistently going up to 78% in test 6&7.
Day before the test....I chickened out.. I tried to reschedule but just like last time rescheduling was disallowed (less than 24 hrs before testing)..
Testing Day....I reminded myself to stick to my strategy....Take time Don't look at the timer and allow myself at least up to 2 - 3 minutes per question ( it's a gamble)..My goal was not to go over 75 items...
I figured that if I do my best earlier in the test and take time, most likely I'll end up with only 75 Q... if not, I'll be in trouble.
When I reached #60 I was getting all the harder Q's.. til screen went all Blue after #75...I was all smile....my strategy worked.....and I got just 75 Q's.
When I walked out of the testing area..I knew in my heart that I did well...
But the following day, til today I'm having some doubts....LOL
My test consisted of about 5 meds related Q's( what to check, route of admi & actions), 2 calculations, 5 SATA's & more or less 15 Delegation and prioritization (includes infection control) towards the end of the test....
know your Lab values ( the basics...K Ca,Na, ABG, WBC,RBC, etc.)
I had 4 procedure related Q's ( TPN, Pleural-Evac, NGT and Blood Transfusion). More Q's on Endocrine, CVA/Neuro, DM (inc. types of Insulin)...etc
IT"S ALL IN SAUNDERS COMPRE>>>> AS what MISS SUZANNE SAID"" ALL you need is SAUNDERS. She's right.
If your having problem with Math...practice using Saunders Compre ed 4 Chapter 17 practice Q's...Do it over and over ...til you get it right. til you can perform your calculation just by using your calculator alone...no paper and pen.
Sorry for the long post....i'm just bored waiting.....
Right now I'm still doing CD Practice Q (told you its addicting) while trading in the stock market online...LOL
AND ONE LAST THING...... I USED SUZANNE's Plan with just minor modification..............
Thanks Suzanne!!!! pass or not.....I still want to Thank you!!!!!
Hope we get the result tomorrow , Tuesday.
Bye now!

CONGRATS. I willtake the exam at anaheim too on the 28th. Im using saudner's 3rd edition thought and I finished th e saunders q and a too and trying to repeat it and today will study the alternate item formats of saunders. I haven't finished the comprehensive book though :-( Again congrats i know you make it :-)
LOL.... I was doing CD til 1 or 2 am Friday and woke up at 5;30am ...drove to pearson vue at 6;50am for my 8am test...
This is my routine ,,,,,I sleep late and wake up at 5;30am Mon to Fri....before the stock market opens,,,,
I daytrade for a living ......while I was reviewing for NCLEX...
Just take it easy,,, if you want to do CD practice ...do so just don't cram by jumping from one topic to another,,,, and don't bring any review materials with you on your way to the testing site,,,,,,,
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
During Processing at the testing site one of the candidate brought the email confirmation from Pearson vue of the issuance of his ATT instead of his actual ATT...
and one candidate had an expired ID.
GOOD LUCK!!!
