my mother had a kidney removed about 5 years ago and at this point she is not doing well at all. i found out yesterday that she is in the hospital on a morphine drip, was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and will be going home today. i understand hospice will begin later this week. my questions is this: is she able to have the morphine drip at home? i know she is in a lot of pain, but i know wants to pass on at home. also, i know the cancer has metastasized and is in the lungs and found out 2 days ago is now in her pancreas. she is also 2 pints low on blood. whatever that means. all i want is for her to be as comfortable as possible, and i do hope for her sake she "goes home" sooner rather than later. of course the selfish part of me wants her to hold on, but the unselfish part wants her to be out of pain. thanks for reading my post. this experience may lead me into hospice nursing as well. i will begin nursing school next year. thanks again.:redpinkhe

I am sorry you are going through so much.
I am sorry however we are not able to offer medical advice as per the terms of service of the site. You really should talk to your mother's doctor
