My manager says I can get a second job, but...

Published

...I have to type up a request for official permission from the higher ups.

What exactly should be noted in this request? Suggestions, please!

Thanks!

I would probably lose my job over it, but I'd tell that NM to go take a flying freak at a rolling donut!

Why anyone would put up with this kind of bullsqueeze is totally beyond me.

Are you questioning why I stay there?

I have several reasons why I stay there and put up with it.

I have to work.

I make more money there than anywhere else I could work around here, in my area.

I stay there because I am just 2 years away from getting a 28 year retirement under my belt.

I am single....I don't have a husband. I have to do what I think is best for my financial future at this time in my life.

A person can't just always walk away from their job just because of a selfish, greedy manager.

There lots of greedy, selfish, people in this world. You just have to learn to put up with some of them sometimes, if you ever have any stability.

And...don't forget.....I'm JUST an LPN.

There are other threads that show that LPNs are not always wanted in certain jobs.

Specializes in Hospice, Med/Surg, ICU, ER.

Good points.... all of them. No, I wasn't specifically questioning why "you" stay there.

Each person has to decide for him/herself what is best for their own situation and peace of mind.

Personally, I couldn't take it. If I'm on my day off and not subject to call-in, I'll have a margarita w/ my dinner and the NM can stuff it sideways.

Best of luck to you.

AND............on the other side of the coin......the NM is why I work the evening shift and won't go to days, when positions come up that are available.

I've had numerous chances to go to days.....I don't want it. MOSTly because of her.

Another reason is because I'm not a morning person, but I think I could teach myself to be a morning person moreso than I could teach myself to work days with this NM.

I just don't want it. I'll stay on evenings, as far away as I can. It's more peaceful this way.
