Congrats on your successful first day. Remind your dear husband that by getting some experience now and being visible to the hospital, you may have a better chance of getting a job offer before you even graduate. I don't think that money is the primary motivator for students to become nurse techs, it is the exposure and the actual hands on so that when you do get your RN, you'll feel less like a fish out of water.
Congratulations again!!!

Today was my first day as a Nurse Tech on the Mother Baby Unit ... and my feet are killing me after 12 hours!
I've never enjoyed anything more in my life ... I must've looked silly walking around with a huge grin all day! I passed trays, calcualted I&O's, washed newborns, did peri care, drained foley's and so much more I can't even remember! Oh, I watched a circumcision, too!
I'm losing support from my husband because I took this job and took a 60% cut in pay to do it. But I love it. I'm glad I did it.
Thanks to all of you for your continued support!
