yesterday, my patient had his iabp d/c'd so my preceptor directed me to take the tubing down.
long story short: i turned the inflated pressure bag ( with a full bag of nss and heparin inside the sleeve) upside down and pulled out the tubing . next thing i know, solution is spraying every where :eek: and my preceptor and i were both showered with the solution. we both had solution running down from our face to our waist.
ofcourse, all eyes were on me as i stood there holding an empty bag of nss :uhoh21::uhoh21:, and dripping wet. needless to say, it took several towels to clean up my mess. thank god i didn't get any patients wet :bowingpur.

Sounds like you got the obligatory bath.
Haha, yes! Honestly, I don't know what the heck I was thinking. I guess common sense isn't so common.
