AWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! :monkeydance: I received my acceptance letter yesterday to LPN program for Spring 07 at Gwinnett Tech here in Georgia. I start nursing classes in SUMMER. What a wonderful early birthday present........I'll be turning 45 on March 12th!!!!!!

I am SO excited and nervous. I didn't think this was ever going to happen. I've been trying to finish up my pre-reqs and get into a program, RN or LPN, for 5 years now. :smackingf As you can see from my screen name "momgrad5/07" my goal was to have been graduated by May 07 when I started this journey. Well, I'm a little off, but I'm DOING IT!!!

I finally did it..........I'll be graduating Spring 2008!!!!!!!:roll

P.S. I'm ready to buy, buy, buy, nursing student STUFF!!!

Hi, I just wanted to say Congratulations! You sound so excited, and you should be! I just joined this board to find other "adult" students or prospective students and it looks like there are quite a few.

I have dreamed of nursing school since I graduated high school. I am still "dreaming" but hoping I will be able to just make myself go for it before long. That is why I am here....to learn and ask questions, get ideas, etc. from other older students, like myself. (I am 43.)

My first priority as an adult was my kids...they are now 13 and 16. The 16-year-old will graduate next year. So, my time is coming. Almost 2 years ago I started doing medical transcription at home, to get involved in something "medical" and to help bring in some extra money.

So, anyway, that is a little about me and why I am here, but again, Congratulations!!!

:balloons: Yeah yeah...Congratulations to you. I received my letter on yesterday and I begin May 07 and graduate May 08. So we are in the exact same boat, so definately keep me posted on your progress and I will definately be posting many threads about how I am doing and any questions I have.

MamaGyrl, congrats to you! Have you bought anything yet? I want so badly to go to a scrub store and stock up on STUFF, i.e. nursing shoes, clipboard, books, anything nursing related! :lol2: I have a program meeting next Thursday to discuss what we gotta be doing before classes start in July.

Hey momgrad5/07, How are things going at Gwinnett Tech? I just got my acceptance letter for Spring 08 today! I am so excited! I noticed you said earlier that Spring quarter is for people who need to finish up pre-reqs? That is kind of a bummer as I am ready to get started. I guess that gives me a little breathing room before classes start in the summer. Any information you can give me regarding the program and instructors would be greatly appreciated!!!:bow:
