Is there a continuing education requirement(s) mandated to prevent CNA certification from expiring? For example, completing x amount of CEU's?
Check with Department of Professional Regulation and/or with the school you attended for expiration/renewal information. Best wishes.

I think you have to re-take the exam or go back to school to get re-certified but don't quote me on that. Contact your school or the IDPH regarding your certification and see what they say
Good luck!

From the Illinois Nurse Aide Testing website:
Question: It has been more than 2 years since I have worked as a nurse aide. Do I have to take the training program over again?
Answer: If a nurse aide is in good standing with no findings of abuse, neglect or theft and has not worked for pay in the nursing-related services for 24 consecutive months or more, he/she may be able to re-certify by either retraining and testing or testing only. Contact the Illinois Department of Public Health at 217-785-5133 for re-certification information.

there is a 1 week course that has to be taken for recertification. cost is 100 (at least in Decatur) for the class. Then you can retake the exam. that is if you have not worked for 24 consecutive months as a CNA.
