My chances for nursing school?

Published

Hi there, I recently discovered that I would like to be a nurse, I've been in school for my undergrad for about 8 years, My GPA is a 2.1, and I have alot of W's... I havent done any volunteer work and I have no letters of recommendation either... But I really want to be a nurse! and I hear the pay is pretty good and feel I can have a good life with a career like this. Any advice? :nurse:

If you want to become a nurse because you have a genuine love and care of people then follow your dreams if you want to be a nurse for monetary gain then you may want to rethink things. But in all things never ever give up; no matter how long it takes you to cross the finish line at least you have finished the race.

Be blessed

I don't think it would be impossible for you to become a nurse but at the same time it will take a lot of time and dedication.

All of these posts were helpful in one way or another, I'm glad to see that others have turned their academic lives around, and that it is possible and there are other options... I also wanted to see the complete negative side, as if a possible program director was to see my transcript and wonder what would go through their mind... Hopefully not that it's a joke lol... I am gonna keep trying because this is the first time I've felt motivated to study, and actually enjoyed class, I feel like I have a purpose instead of aimlessly going to college just because thats the logical next step after highschool.

Hello Everyone! I'm new here and I would like some feedback on applying for nursing school. I already have an AA and would like to apply for BSN. I have looked into schools and in process of finishing pre-reqs. I am currently in Micro. My question is I took A&P I three years ago and made a C. I was not serious then. I have an A in A&P II and I am pretty sure I will make an A in Micro. Should I retake A&PI to make an A or should I just try to apply and see what happens? I know those are the major classes they look at, that's why I'm unsure. I still need to take Lifespan and Nutrition. I am rushing to get everything taken so I can apply. Any advice??

I would retake A&P I to be honest.
