I work at a large JH (900) that will may add an aide to help out next year. They will learn if it was approved today. But the supr wants to transfer an aide that has been written up, keeps messy clinic, etc instead of the ones I prefer. She was going to fire her but felt sorry bc family $ situations. I've been offered to interview at another school district for med large Elem. but I must decide to tell supr today to allow other supr to get references on me. The pay at JH is poor 34G while Elem is 38G and 8 miles farther away. I don't know if the Elem is more or same hectic. They're getting me an aide bc it's hectic to do paperwork during day, seeing 40-50 kids/day. What would you do?

If I understand your post correctly, you don't have to accept or reject a job offer today, just give permission for the supervisor to obtain references. While that will make it clear to your current district that you are job hunting, I'm not so sure that is a bad thing. Perhaps the knowledge that you may not return would prompt the supervisor to reconsider her bad decision to keep on an unsatisfactory aide.
As far as the new district is concerned, I would not allow them to push you into making a "quick" decision regarding employment there, either. Changing jobs is a big decision, and any decent supervisor understands that it is necessary to give the candidate a few days to consider all options. Spur of the moment, pressured decisions rarely work out well for anyone.
Good luck to you!
