Does anyone know if this is a good program? I'm thinking about applying for it for Fall '08, but I don't know anyone who has gone to the school. I would love to know anything from quality of faculty to design of the program to how difficult it is to get accepted. Do most people who start the program graduate? Does anyone work during the program? Really anything would be very appreciated!

Good Luck November please come quickly!!!

I think healthcare volunteer experience really just depends I have a friend that just started the program this fall and she was accepted with zero volunteer experience.

Hi guys! Found out yesterday that I'm an alternate for Spring 2012. Anyone know how often alternates are actually accepted? I guess the waiting game continues for me! :)

CONGRATS ELKO! I HOPE I CAN BE SO LUCKY!! Will you share your stats with the rest of us?

I hope you get in! From what I've gathered-- a lot of alternates make it in.

..and the fact that you've heard back so quickly is probably a VERY good sign. January is right around the corner ;)

Found out I am an alternate also - does anyone how many are on the alternate list?

If you make alternate do they automatically keep your application on file for the next cohort? Do you know? I live in Oklahoma and probably won't receive a letter for a few more days.

no, if you are not accepted off the alternate list, you must reapply for the next class - however they will keep your references so you need not submit them again with your next application

Thanks. Good luck to you!! I hope you make it in, girl! I also hope I will be joining you in beautiful CHS soon! Keep us all posted. Alternate is NOT bad at ALL! MUSC Nursing is like .... A BIG FREAKING DEAL-- be proud of yourself and pray, meditate, do what you do and leave it up to your higher power!

Elko (and others that are on the alternate list) - did you all apply for the priority admission or regular? Also, how did they notify you? Was it in a letter through the mail? Congratulations - I wish you the very best! I was told by Bayne Ritter that notifications would be sent out mid-to-late November....so it sounds like it may be faster than that!

I applied for regular admission and received a letter yesterday. My guess is that you'll here something pretty soon. Good luck! I'm calling tomorrow to find out more details about being an alternate. I'll let you guys know what they say.
