Mt San Jacinto RN Program

Published

I was wondering if anybody completed or is currently in the Mt San Jacinto nursing program. What is the schedule like? Did you really have to have a 4.0 GPA to get in? I'm doing my science prerequisites now and will be applying for Spring 2011. I'm just wondering how much time I'll be away from my daughter if I get in.

Nobody going here?

I'm planning on applying to the RN program in Spring 2011 too... hopefully someone has some info for us!

I went to MSJC

yes I needed a 4.0 to get in there were a couple people who did not buy luck of the draw, so don't let that discourage you from trying if you don't have a 4.0 just try your hardest either way.

It's a good program, you get out what you put in like any other schooling. There are some really good instructors and some really bad, again like all programs. It's not the best but by far I am sure it's not the worst!

It's very grueling especially the first semester, but you will still have time for yourself and your family, just work really hard to find that balance.

good luck.

I just moved to Temecula and this is my only option around town. Otherwise I would be driving at least 1 hour away for school. I do not have a 4.0, I am a B student so its a little nerve racking just thinking about it. I will also apply on Spring 2011. I have been waiting 10 mons for a nursing program and I am getting a bit impatient. :banghead:I recently attended a info session at WCU and I have to admit I tempted to apply for 100k loan  (thats how much their program coast for a bsn). Any advise? Anything helps!!!

Have you looked into Western Governor's University? I live near you, and I was accepted to WGU and have been attending since last month. The coursework is online, and clinicals are held at Riverside Community Hospital. I'm not sure when they will be admitting their next round of students... I'm thinking April or May. PM me if you have any questions!

Good luck! :)

Yes, I am have looked into WGU but I was not pleased with the program outline. I need class interaction. I'm the type that needs direction and first hand training. But Thanks for the rec. Have already started the prgm? How do you like it so far? How much is it for the whole program?

Yeah, it probably isn't for you if you need the classroom environment. I love the structure, but I've always been a big fan of online learning. I have two toddlers, so for me having to be physically present in a classroom would have been very difficult. I'm loving WGU so far. There is a lot of interaction with other students and with our mentors via phone and online communities, which is nice. I started last month, and will be graduating in December 2012. The entire program is a little less than $20,000 (it's a little over $4,000 each term; 4 terms total). Pretty reasonable cost... I priced out some of the near by universities, and most of them cost quite a bit more.

seems like you are great with online, you always respond to my messages in a timely manner unlike myself. lol. Do you have a degree already? Which program are you in (rn-bsn or prelicensure?) Yes I agree 20k is reasonable.
