If I don't get in LA, probably Citrus only cause I already go there, it would be so so so convenient! But they're still reviewing apps even though I had my counseling appt there today. They said they'll send out emails by the end of April. As much as possible, when I'm 100% sure I'm not going to Mt. SAC I will give up my spot for the next person waiting cause I wouldn't want the wait for them. It's a really nice school though!

I also had my appointment with citrus and will have mine with mt sac tuesday, still waiting to hear from chaffey. How is the program at citrus? I haven't really heard much about it.

The program in Citrus I heard is very good. This might be a little bit biased but Citrus professors will more likely recommend Citrus over Mt. SAC for many reasons. Citrus only accepts about 20 each year so the nursing class will be a lot smaller which I think is better than having 60. Anyway, I will be giving up my Mt. SAC spot though cause I got accepted to CSULA. Good luck to everyone else!!!

Congrats chmariee :) I heard that too about the Citrus.. howevher i took my prereqs at Mt Sac because its closer to where i live

Hi, My daughter is graduating from high school this year and is planing go for ADN in Mt Sac. Can someone give her advice on how she should get started and how long it will take her to finish all the prereqs & GE before she can apply to the nursing program? If she took AP Chemistry in high school, does she still need to take a college chemistry class to get into the Microbiology prerequisite class? Is it suggested to take a science prerequisite in the first semester or should she wait until next semester? Any ideas/suggestions on how to get more points if she will be a full-time student with no volunteer or job experience? Thank you!

Hey jcsun, i think the best thing would be to apply for the college and than schedule an appointment with the one of the counselors. As far as i know she will not need another chemistry unless she plan to transfer. It really depends on her how well she is at managing time and studying i would say from 1 year to two years it reallyt depends

I think it's always best to apply for BSN programs but of course, it depends on what she really wants. Community colleges in general are impacted so anything that can give her priority registration, take it. As for chem, she doesn't need to take it because of the AP credit (check with a counselor cause there are many different types of chem and different schools want different chems) She has to start off with general bio and then on to the other sciences. I know someone who did it in 2 years and transferred to a BSN program, I did it in 2 1/2 because I wanted to make sure my GPA was at its best. As for volunteer/job experience, she can join many programs such as Clinical Care Extender or get a CNA license. I think it's best to get some kind of hospital experience because not only will this give her extra points, it will solidify as to why she wants to be a nurse. Good luck!

Hi, I also interviewed recently and fortunately got in :)

This year's cut-line was 77 points and Counselor told me that about 6~8 alternates were accepted 'usually'.

Hope this information helps :)

Good luck!

Nice:), I guess I forgot to mention that I did too. Are you going to accept? My counselor told me the cut off would be around 72 but it might be due to alternates who get in when others decline.

I will decide by the end of this week, but I am 99% sure that I will accept the offer :)
