Mt. SAC Nursing program - HESI questions to those who have taken it. Help.

Published

Looks like I might be admitted into the Spring 2012 term as an alternate. After two years of waiting, finally. I was this close to tossing the towel and move onto my alternative major.

Anyway, here's what I know: No calculator, 4 hour time limit. Subjects: A&P, Math, Grammar, Reading/Vocab.

1) Is the reading and vocabulary combined to one section?

2) Is each section timed to a certain time limit like in the TEAS? Or is it straight up 4 hours?

3) Is the exam based on the HESI 2nd edition? My study guide is the 2nd edition.

4) How many questions for each section?

I tried contacting the faculty, spoke with the secretary but she doesn't know the answers to my questions.

That's all, and thanks in advance.

Not very difficult... the last science class I took was 2 years ago right before I applied. and I still with like a 88% cumulative.. so it was pretty cool. I didn't use any of the study guides either. just a few of the free ones I found online.

Have you recieved anything about the orientation?? I turned the alternate placement letter a few weeks back but I haven't heard anything back yet.

Has anyone?

Not me. Hopefully we get the schedule soon. It's from the 10th-12th, I'm curious to what it'll be about, and how long. Would you happen to know? It better be worth it because I'm out of the country. I was going to come back the 21st, but I had to chance my return flight to the 8th to make the orientation. -$ :(

Anyway, see you there!

Does anyone know if chemistry is on the HESI Exam?.

No. I just took the HESI on DEC 6th. A/P basically went no further than the basics. Ex: Anterior, posterior, inferior, superior. What happens in the capillaries, oxygen exchange, blood route through the heart. Oh, and know the chambers valves. And what part of the brain controls eye movement or balance, motor function. Stuff like that. One more thing. Remember your gland, especially the thalamus. And Abdominal organs. The one that have me stubble was a question about how long a womans mental cycle last. I was like " how long is my girlfriend moody". J/k.. Anyways good luck.

No CHEM, no BIOLOGY, no, PHYSICS
